Environmental Works: Prints in the Sand

Ahmad Nadalian is an internationally-known environmental artist. His works draw upon a wide range of symbols from ancient rituals, with new interpretations. His concepts are expressed through a variety of media and techniques.
Below are photos of Nadalian’s work on the sand in the coast of the Persian Gulf:

The amount of detail is astounding.

These sand prints are made by printing large carved cylinder seals, such as the one pictured below, on sand. These seals were inspired by ancient examples of cylinder seals.
